Invited by the Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America to publish and present, and to deepen cooperation on Islamic arbitration.
The Council was invited by the senior scholars of the Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America (AMJA) to publish, present and attend their annual conference in Chicago, USA — a recognition of the Council's standing among its peer bodies internationally.
The Council contributed a research paper to the proceedings, authored by Shaykh Dr. Haitham Al-Haddad, addressing questions of privacy and modesty between spouses in an age of cameras and constant digital communication — the kind of contemporary problem that established fiqh must be brought to bear on carefully.
Shaykh Dr. Ali Ahmed attended on behalf of the Council's team and met Shaykh Dr. Salah al-Sawi, President of AMJA, to discuss cooperation between the two bodies in the field of Islamic arbitration in Muslim family disputes.
